THIS JUST IN ...

A friend contacted me recently and expressed his disappointment regarding the availability of decent cases for his Omnipod® insulin pump, so he commissioned a full custom case for the system and associated accessories.

At first I eagerly agreed as I'm always up for a challenge, but throughout the build process I was wondering what I got myself into. This was, by far, one of the more challenging leather pieces I've created.  I didn't want to just create simple pouches for the system, so everything was custom fitted, to include the blood glucose lancing device that wasn't available during the build - I had to create a model based on measurements provided to me.

He requested brass fittings and a Buco-style D-pocket, but left the rest up to me and now he'll have a one-of-a-kind case for an important part of this daily life.  Short of buying a vintage jacket for its zipper, I came across a vintage Talon-style zipper following an extensive search.

The back of the case reveals slits to hold an extra pod/syringe set up.  When not used, the slits become flush with the rest of the case.

  1. I love this! Is this something that will be available to order,or are you only doing special orders? Also, would you be able to change the colors to a colored leather or able to put on some sort of floral or "girly" designs? Please let me know at StephCarney@live.com
