THESE ARE NOT MISTER FREEDOM ROAD CHAMPS

These are Horsehide 1930's style Engineer Boots with double leather soles, brass roller buckles and biltrite heels.

  1. Where are these from? They look beautiful.

  2. Hey congrat's on the Red Wings!

Although they look similar to the MF RC's, I think these boots come out on top. I mentioned somewhere before that I'd pay the extra scratch for a pair of HH MF RC's...well, here they are with brass buckles (my weakness) and traditional instep strap location. They are the same price as the MF's, too.

    Cheers!

  3. The profile is as near as damn it the same. I presumed the off set color trim at the top of MF RC's was Christophe's idea! Not so...

  4. You mean the old Red Wings I recently sold?

I agree with you on these: the instep strap is back where it belongs, horsehide looks great, and they take all the desirable features of the Road Champs and improve on them.

I'd love to know who's selling them too.

  5. It's made by a 1930's Repro Company called Ryesville Koats & Jackets. This boot is called the Great Smokey Boot. I believe its hard to find and extremely rare, since they only made a few. Cost about ¥81000, sold out everywhere.

  8. So that everyone gets their marbles right, Mister Freedom "Road Champs" were on the drafting table by January 2007 and early prototypes started coming out in mid 2008: the boots were based on all original MF hand carved last, original panels and straps pattern. There was NOTHING similar available at the time. Leather R&D took about 1 1/2 year to be completed because great looking ol' school cow hide beats modern cheapo horsehide anyday, imo.
Everyone has an opinion on how things should get done, only a few actually do something about it, because it takes bigger balls to act than to bitch.
Eddie, I will let you comment on how poorly MF stuff fits you, we all agree, but you can shove your remarks regarding MF ripping off other brands, when it is commonly admitted that our products end up on almost all of the competitors' design boards and knock-off factories in lack of inspiration.
The MF Road Champs and MFSC chino riders are no exceptions.
    Dismissed.
