ANOTHER MINI MID-CENTURY VACATION

Jillian and I headed out on yet another mid-century hotel mini vacation this past week at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, Arizona, just before the Labor Day rush.  This is only the second of many upcoming rendezvous to mid-century hotels on our list, both in the US and abroad.  The first was the Horizon Hotel in Palm Springs.  Our mission?  Travel the country and visit newly renovated mid-century hotels that retain their original character and style, enjoy their local restaurants and bars for their happy hour drinks and foods.  It goes without saying that shopping for vintage is on the agenda.

Opened on December 20, 1956, Valley Ho was the perfect hideaway for Hollywood's elite

  1. Great pics - looks like a fun vacation with lots to see and do. Out of curiosity, who made the engineer boots you're wearing in the pics?
