MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOM LACEBACK SALT & PEPPER PANTS

When I got home from work tonight, I had a strong urge to add laceback panels to my S&P pants.  Before this project, I've only sewed chevrons or "hash marks" on my uniforms...and I helped Jillian make about thirty pairs of pants for Hope University's "Bye Bye Birdie" play she costume designed for (this is where I learned to sew).  Here's the outcome...

Required tools:
Grommets
Grommet Setter
Mallet/Hammer
Sewing Machine
Patience

I didn't have shoelaces readily available, so just for a visual I used the thick handle from a San Francisco Levi's bag.  I'm going to go with a dark lace for these.

I also decided to add thick cuffs.  I think I'm going to wear these pants all weekend long.  Next? Laceback jeans!!
