MY DEPLOYMENT NEWSLETTER - WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Well, not the entire thing - just the cover page.  This is what I'm leaning towards for the cover of my February (and last) Newsletter.  Any thoughts?  Brutal honesty, please.

This one has absolutely nothing to do with anything - I just like the photo

This is an alternate cover page. This one kind of ties in with the whole welcome home theme

This was the cover of my January Newsletter

  1. The image is awesome on the first one. I prefer the second one though. Is this going out to your Marines, or Marines AND families? If so, the second one for sure. I prefer the logo on the second one, since it has the date and information about your unit. The only thing I don't like about the logo of the second is the reaper (?) - I think he needs to be a touch smaller so it's not butting up against the sides of the letter B.

YAY for you coming home soon!! Hey, did you see that I'm swearing in tomorrow? Joining the AF reserve! :)

  2. Congrats on start of your military journey, Erin! Jillian has been keeping me abreast of your enlistment. Good luck to you and you will do just fine. Lackland Air Force Base or Bust :)

I traveled from my duty station in Iwakuni, Japan to Lackland AFB back in 1997 for a HazMat class and remember running into some recruits at a bus stop. They were amazed at how squared-away and heavily starched my cover was.

Yeah, the Newsletter covers are roughs, but they will go out to my Marines here as well as the CO/XO/SgtMaj and Family Readiness Officer who (I hope) disseminates it to the families.

I think I will go with the second one with a modified title.

    Thanks for the input!

Take care and congrats once again.

    Cheers!
