VINTAGE COBBLERS

Here's a shoe repairman from 1958 prospering as unemployed workers hang on to old shoes rather than buy new ones.  Check out the two pairs of Engineer Boots on the top shelf.

Zinke's Drive-in Shoe Reparing opened in 1919.  There are at least a couple that I've visited both in Pasadena and Glendale, CA.

  1. Great pictures of Zinke's place. My Red Wing 2268's are at Hukurokuju's right now for repairs. Can't wait to get 'em back...

  2. Lucky you!! Okiyama isn't accepting any more repairs for now because he's way backed up. I would love to see pics when you get 'em in.

  3. Will do. I just got a message from my friend who took them there in person while on holiday. He said the same that they're backed up with repairs but as he'd travelled from the UK they agreed to squeeze us in...
