Knowledge is power and the win goes to the seller on this auction. These Vintage Engineer Boots, circa 1950's, have features sought after by collectors such has the half-soles, toe tracks and Chippewa-style buckles and an overall great profile.  However, these boots were typically found at the local dry goods / general store and are made with substandard leather - split and grain cowhide.  I wouldn't mind owning two bills, tops.  Nine-hundred bills is a bit over the top for these "budget boots."  For that money, one could obtain a similar looking pair of Toys McCoys Beck Engineer Boots that are constructed like tanks.
