TODAY'S MOTO PHOTO - MARINE CORPS MASCOT

November 18, 1945 - Staff Sergeant Balson Butch, bulldog mascot of the Marine barracks, Philadelphia Navy Yard, sports the new coat with gold insignia his buddies fixed up for him to wear at the annual Quaker City Dog Show.  Butch is to be the guest of honor of the 200 bulldogs entered, and will receive a birthday citation observing the 170th anniversary of the founding of the U. S. Marine Corps.
