WWII USMC HBT P44 CAP

I've been searching for fuctional gear to bring "foward" with me to Afghanistan and happen upon this cool original Herringbone Twill (HBT) Cap. You've got to be a serious collector to pay this much scratch for a Marine Corps "Cover" - not sure if they were called "Cover's" back then, but that's we call our uniform caps now.

$455 / 25 Bids

  2. Thanks so much for your comment Patrick!! I did some research, because your comment made me realize that it's about time I try and learn the history of my own military services equipment and not just vintage clothing. Turns out the cover is from 1944. I went ahead and added a picture of the tag.

    Thanks again!
    Cheers!!

  3. John,

That filthy HBT cap I showed you that I scor4d for $15 at the Bowl, was a P44 the same as this, under all that dirt was an EGA, the sad part is that when I put it in the sink for a soak, the fabric started disintegrating, and now its ruined.

I guess you win some, and you lose some.

It was great to see you and the wife though.
