Don't forget to clean and condition your leather on a regular. Exposure to sand, salt, dirt, mud, etc. will dry out the leather and eventually cause it to crack if left untreated. I don't do this too often as I like the look of beat up boots, but it is absolutely necessary to prolong the life of the leather. It's a good idea to apply oil or conditioner going into a period of inclimate weather and soon after its exposure to it. Also, the use of a boot brush at least once a week will help to reduce the amount of oil/conditioning applications. It doesn't take much to maintain your high-dollar investment.
