These Vintage Engineer Boots lasted mere minutes at auction before the seller took them down for $950. Congratulations to the seller, but as a buyer I wouldn't have paid anything more than five bills.
These were manufactured by Chippewa, as indicated by the similar later model profile as well as the instep and upper buckles, but it's like buying a Gretsch G5120 rather than a G6120. Sure, they look similar, but one is a lower-end "Electromatic."
The seller claims these as being from the 1950's, but I say they are no older than early-1960's.
Overall, they have a nice profile, but definitely nothing to write home about and definitely nothing to waste the kids' college money over.
