It's amazing that such a late model pair o' boots would sell for this much.  My brother purchased a pair of these from Sears back in the 1990's so these may even be as late at the '90's.  The only real appeal on these is the profile...and the light patina - the same profile can be found on a pair of Chippewa #27863 Engineer's at a fraction of the price ($160).  It's an upredictable market, but these should have sold for well under two bills.

  1. I'd say the SEARS tag may have had helped them on their way price wise. As you say amazing...

By the way John, did you get the emails I sent last month?

  2. Steve, I did receive your e-mails. I'm naturally horrible with responses and being here, it's even worse. I forwarded your e-mail to my office address with intent to write a nice long e-mail back, but the op-tempo here in AFG is up there.

Man, them there Road Champs are amazing! I'm sure by now you've got them broken in and looking well as the Narrow's.

I would love to see some updated wear pics. If you get a chance to do so, you can send them to:

  3. Thanks John. I obviously saw you had been on tour again but I thought you were back home. No such luck eh?

I'd gladly update you some wear pics but I'm afraid it'll only be on the Road Champs as I've worn nothing else!

Some years ago my girlfriend had a pair of Sears Patrol boots with the same inner label but they were much older with leather soles identical to the ones in Rin's M/C Jackets, Ultimate Biker Fashions book. Bet they'd sell for more than the £100 they made back then!

  4. No luck at all :)

Hey, I'll take whatever wear pics you have. I'd love to see the Road Champs.

There's no doubt that Sears Engineer Boots are made to last.
