It's amazing that such a late model pair o' boots would sell for this much. My brother purchased a pair of these from Sears back in the 1990's so these may even be as late at the '90's. The only real appeal on these is the profile...and the light patina - the same profile can be found on a pair of Chippewa #27863 Engineer's at a fraction of the price ($160). It's an upredictable market, but these should have sold for well under two bills.
I'd say the SEARS tag may have had helped them on their way price wise. As you say amazing...

Steve, I did receive your e-mails. I'm naturally horrible with responses and being here, it's even worse. I forwarded your e-mail to my office address with intent to write a nice long e-mail back, but the op-tempo here in AFG is up there.

Some years ago my girlfriend had a pair of Sears Patrol boots with the same inner label but they were much older with leather soles identical to the ones in Rin's M/C Jackets, Ultimate Biker Fashions book. Bet they'd sell for more than the £100 they made back then!
