This style of sole was made for many years after the 1950's, so it's hard to say whether or not these are a period re-sole job. Check out the last photo and notice the shrinkage on the rubber in relation to the wooden heel - it takes years for that to occur. Either way, these amazing boots have a great profile and are perfectly worn in, but for almost three G's? Now, I could see these going for good money with leather soles or even a half-soles, but even then I'm talking only about a grand. Three grand is Gretsch White Falcon or White/Black Penguin guitar territory.

Not overly keen on the heel shape, but I could probably live with it given the fantastic profile of the rest of the boot. Nice one.
