1950'S CHIPPEWA ENGINEER BOOTS - $2,794

Brand: Chippewa
Color: Black
Size: 7 1/2 E
Length:  10 1/2"
Width:  4"
Leather: Horsehide
Sole: Chippewa
Hardware: Nickel
Condition: "Used with no major damage"
Price:  A whopping $2,794.00 (No it hasn't sold yet)

This style of sole was made for many years after the 1950's, so it's hard to say whether or not these are a period re-sole job.  Check out the last photo and notice the shrinkage on the rubber in relation to the wooden heel - it takes years for that to occur.  Either way, these amazing boots have a great profile and are perfectly worn in, but for almost three G's?  Now, I could see these going for good money with leather soles or even a half-soles, but even then I'm talking only about a grand.  Three grand is Gretsch White Falcon or White/Black Penguin guitar territory.

  1. Not overly keen on the heel shape, but I could probably live with it given the fantastic profile of the rest of the boot. Nice one.
