Here's a late pair of Vintage Engineer Boots that could barely bring in a hundred dollars when new. They are made in America by Work America and this is the first time I've seen them in such great used condition. There's no way I'm getting rid of mine now (pictured below). Although the patina looks great, it looks somewhat forced - I'm one to know as I "helped" the wear develop on my first pair of Engineer Boots back in 1991 while in high school.
I admire jidaporn for not using "Horsehide" or "1950's" on this auction when so many others would use them in a hot second. Jidaporn deals in a lot of Vintage Engineer Boots and knows the product.
The price is about right for such a patinaed pair of boots, but knowing what I know with regard to how much these sell for at auction, I wouldn't have bid more than $150.00. I've seen almost new ones sell for around $50.00. There's no doubt these'll look amazing with new halfsoles and heels.
My Work America Engineer Boots, purchased deadstock in box for around a bill, give or take.
